How It Works
When you download your e-Aadhaar from the UIDAI portal, the PDF file is protected with a password for security. This password is a combination of the first 4 characters of your name (in CAPITAL letters, as printed on your Aadhaar) and your 4-digit year of birth.
The name portion includes letters, dots, and any special characters — but spaces are skipped. If your full name has fewer than 4 characters (excluding spaces), the password simply uses all available characters plus the year.
